Trying to find the best laptop can be difficult, especially when you want something that will last several years with a performance that won’t slow down after only six months of use. The following list has some of the highest-performing laptops in the market in 2022, with all of them having at least five-star reviews from users who have bought them and given feedback online about their performance and reliability over time. Whether you need a gaming laptop or one that will excel at taking notes in school, these 10 high-performance laptops are reliable and won’t disappoint you over time.

1) Dell XPS 13

There’s a reason why most of our staff use laptops from Dell. We’ve bought so many laptops that they give us special discounts, but it’s not just because we have access to employee discounts. The Dell XPS 13 is one of our favorite laptops because it’s lightweight, powerful, and looks great. The XPS 13 comes with both an Intel Core i5 and i7 processor. Either way, you get 8GB RAM and up to 1TB of storage space for under $1000. It doesn’t hurt that it has amazing battery life (up to 16 hours), super-fast charging, and a sleek design either!

2) HP Spectre x360 13t

The HP Spectre x360 13t may be pricier than most of its rivals, but it’s got a lot to offer. It boasts an Intel Core i7 processor and 12 hours of battery life. Plus, it’s one of the few convertibles available with USB Type-C connectivity instead of older USB standards. Users love its excellent display and keyboard, too. However, they say that trackpad could be better—especially if you’re right-handed (which we all are). They also warn that performance can slow down after six months or so, but that may just be attributable to Windows updates and software issues.

3) Microsoft Surface Book 2

The Microsoft Surface Book 2 is one of two brand new models unveiled by Microsoft. In our review, we found that it’s a superb machine; although it’s expensive if you have extra money to spend and want a high-performance laptop, then definitely consider splurging on it. The Surface Book 2 offers plenty of power, has a stunning display, and performs pretty well when playing PC games or using intensive programs. The main drawback is its battery life—when using a powerful GPU, you’ll be lucky to get 4 hours of use between charges. However, if portability isn’t too much of an issue for you, then there aren’t many laptops out there that can beat it for performance at such a good price point.

4) Apple MacBook Pro 15

Weighing in at 3.02 pounds, it’s lightweight and portable. No matter what you’re doing—writing a report, editing a video, or looking at spreadsheets—the MacBook Pro 15 is powerful enough to keep up with your work. The laptop comes with 16GB of RAM and is equipped with an Intel Core i7 processor to ensure smooth running even when you have multiple apps open. It also features a crisp Retina display, so everything looks clear and colorful onscreen. For top performance and portability, we recommend getting an Apple MacBook Pro 15 laptop for yourself or as a gift for someone special. It’s one of our favorite laptops available in 2022 and an excellent choice for anyone that needs power without sacrificing battery life or size.

5) ASUS ZenBook UX410UA

The ZenBook UX410UA isn’t as powerful as some of its competitors, but if you’re looking for a reliable, sturdy laptop that can handle basic tasks with ease, it’s an excellent option. This model is thin and light, which makes it a good fit for students or anyone who doesn’t want to be weighed down by their laptop. The UX410UA also has an attractive design and a touchscreen display so you can easily interact with your laptop while on the go. It won’t win any awards for sheer power, but its performance will be enough to get most of your work done without major hiccups.

6) Acer Swift 7

The first ultrabook can be submerged in up to one meter of water for up to 30 minutes. The Swift 7 has a full HD touchscreen and is powered by an Intel Core i7 processor. It also features an active stylus and metal body with a thickness of 8.98mm. This laptop is considered one of, if not, THE best laptops in its class. For example, Acer’s website describes it as A tablet that’s light as air and thinner than paper. However, some criticize it for being only slightly lighter than competitors at 2.42 pounds but thicker than many other ultrabooks including Macbook Airs which weigh 1 pound less, and Macbook Pros which weigh 4 pounds less.

7) Lenovo ThinkPad T470p

At first glance, there’s nothing super exciting about Lenovo’s ThinkPad T470p. It has a no-nonsense, business appearance that doesn’t come across as particularly flashy—but what it lacks in style, it makes up for in substance. Packed into its 14 chassis is a 7th generation Intel Core i7 processor and Nvidia Quadro M2200M graphics card that ensures you get loads of power without an expensive price tag. It also features two USB 3.0 ports, which provide much faster transfer speeds than USB 2.0, making your files zip along at super speeds—particularly handy if you like to transfer files between different machines using external hard drives or flash drives.

8) Aorus X3 Plus v6

If you want to splurge and buy a laptop that can handle anything on your desk, then look no further than Aorus X3 Plus v6. This is one of the few laptops in its class with an i7 processor and 16GB of RAM. It also has a powerful Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti graphics card that won’t slow down even when playing graphics-intensive games like Fortnite or Apex Legends. It comes equipped with 256GB of flash storage for games, plus 2TB for files, so there’s plenty of room for everything you need to play, work and store all at once. Unfortunately, it is on our list because it isn’t highly resistant to water damage or dust.

9) MSI GP62X Leopard Pro-406

While its 15.6-inch display may not be suitable for some gamers, it does come with a serious punch. The Leopard Pro features an Intel Core i7 processor (6th generation), Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 graphics card, and 16GB of RAM to allow you to run games at their highest settings smoothly. The Leopard Pro comes in at less than three pounds and is 1.1 inches thick, meaning you can bring it with you to class or on long trips without much trouble. It also features two USB 3.0 ports, one USB 2.0 port, a Mini DisplayPort, an HDMI port, and a BluRay drive—everything you could possibly need for all your gaming needs!

10) MacBook Air

The newest iteration of Apple’s thin and light MacBook is one of the best notebooks we’ve ever used. It features a brilliant Retina display, a comfortable keyboard, a smooth trackpad, and more than ten hours of battery life. We’re a big fan of its modern design and top-notch hardware that makes for an overall great experience. For travelers looking to pack as little as possible on their trips without sacrificing performance, it’s difficult to do better than Apple’s finest laptop in recent years.
